Whats hidden in the snow / Det som göms i snö..

Whats hidden under the snow will be visible in thaw...
The snow disappear in a day and all the dirty piles show their ugly faces.
On my walk Yesterday I literally had to zigzag between poop piles in different colors and sizes.
Shame on you all with dogs who doesnt clean after you!! (says the girl who has had dogs most part of her life and has never used a plastic poop bag...)

Weirdness in our neighbourhood

Will I ever find out why one of our neighbor has a whole range of pots in varies sizes standing outside on the windowsill? No probably not.. But it doesn't stop me from wondering every time I walk past whats behind this weird form of storage? Do they not have cupboards? Do they smell or contain something smelly? And how the hell do they manage to put them there without killing themselves... I must admit that I am tempted to climb up to take a look inside, but no I will not I promise...

Semlor

Semlor förgyller vintern.
Gräddiga och tillbredden fylld med mandelmassa.
Helst hembakade

Semla = Swedish bun filled with marzipan and whipped cream
These buns makes the Swedish cold and dark winter a little brighter
They are available mainly during January and Feburary
Special dedicated day for semlan is on the second Tuesday in February ( alot of history behind)
I prefer them homemade and many small rather then one big
My mamma Mi was here last week and baked the most amazing buns. There is still some left in the freezer and as it is a grey Tuesday today is the day we need a sweet juicy semla...

Prague shades of grey

Winter in Prague and I have seen hundreds of shades of grey.
The whole atmospshere is grey
The day starts grey and ends grey
Like a big dirty cloud over the city
I don't need to tell you just how amazing it was to see the blue sky and sun shine this morning..
Please let this weather stay for a while now

Cicci time

I am privileged to be home with our sweet little Mila
Mila eats, fills up the diapers and sleeps most of the days.
Its a great feeling to be needed and to take care of this amazing little mini person
BUT it is also very nice to now and then have some time to myself.
Why do I always have to mess this time up?
Latest yesterday I got the chance to have some time to myself and went to a shopping mall. Great to walk around see some people and maybe buy something new. Just as I got there I realized that I had taken both mobile-phones. With other words Mr Nikolovski had no chance to contact me when me and my breasts were needed. It was for me to jump back in the car and go home again.. So much for having time to myself...

IF: Wings

On this weeks topic, wings, I have to show my depressed angels again because they need all the attention they can get....

Weekend thrill

Here we go again.
Team Nikolovski simply doesn't learn from mistakes
It happened six months ago and this weekend it happened again..
Door keys left inside the apartment when going for a walk = Locked out
Mobile phone left inside the locked apartment  = How the hell do we call for help?
Back home after bothering neighbors for phone (again) and paying 2000 CZK to a locksmith.
Team Nikolovski's great weekend thrill

2000 CZK senare kunde vi komma in igen.

IF: Ocean

Ocean is this weeks topic on Illustration Friday.
Prague is cold and snowy at the moment.
A nice warm summer day is far away and so are the ocean.
But we keep dreaming of warm sunny days and the ocean far away.

Mountains of clothes

A chair in the bedroom
Will in no time be covered by a mountain of clothes

On the spare bed also a huge mountain of clothes can be found

Newest addition is the baby bed where the baby clearly doesn't want to sleep in, simply perfect to create another mountain of clothes...

Why is it so hard to put clothes in the wardrobe or in the drawers?

Status January 2013

Sofie in the house

Sofie is my little sister and Mila's aunty.
Sofie is a slave of Gossip girl (a cheesy American series that I am guilty of introducing to her..)
Sofie is attached to her computer and her phone (I have to check pictures if she was born with them..)
Sofie plays all type of games in time and no time. With other words, Quiz, cards, angry birds - you name it, she plays it..
Sofie I am sure will always be a teenager at heart.
Sofie visited us last week and above is her most common pose. She draw this horse and I took the liberty to put color on it, looks good don't you think. During her 20 years I am sure she has drawn thousands of horses in different shapes.

Sharing the childbirth with the world

I follow a few mama blogs and what they all have in common are their childbirth stories. No details spared I can tell you. Sometimes even divided into two or three different parts. Gory stories which can scare the most bravest to death. This is not a mama blog, but I a mama who is blogging and therefore it seems that even I have a need to share my childbirth experience, at least a short summary.
  • Contractions = hug the pillow hard and try to sleep
  • Driving through Prague lunch-time close to Christmas can make you a little stressed
  • Wide open and reaching the hospital according to the concept JIT (just-in-time)
  • A whole army of midwives & doctors in all ages and shapes (majority only Czech speaking)
  • Mamma Mia ( I know so many bad words and this was my chance to use them ALL, but I choose an old fashion Italian expression!?)
  • Old grumpy midwife laying on me and I am trying to push her off me ( even more grumpy..)
  • Asking to forget the whole thing and to go home (my serious request denied with laughter)
  • Husband extra ordinary support a la sport commentator (I did hear and remember everything you promised)
  • "Tell her to close the mouth and to push otherwise the baby will never come out.."( same grumpy midwife)
  • "I told you it wasn't that bad " (young doctor, what the hell does he knows about pain?)
  • Hospital food and roommates over all expectations

Prague in New Years colors

I know that it has nearly gone a week since we welcomed the new year, but I had to make an illustration of the impressive fireworks Prague showed us. I never seen such firework show before, not even the world championship in fireworks at Stockholm water festival sometime back in the 90th was even close to this show. Colorful pyrotechnic in all directions and as beautiful it is I can't help myself from thinking of fireworks all down-sides: All the money spent and lit on fire, that it is too many people blowing a hand or an eye away and of course all the dogs scared to death. Anyhow we had a great view from our balcony and we are hoping that 2013 will be a  good year. It will for sure be a year full of new experiences and all we are asking for is good health.

Christmas & New Year

Team Nikolovski has spent Christimas and New Year getting to know our new little member. We have also managed to watch the series "The Killing" and a bunch of movies (at least managed to see the first 30 minutes without falling asleep). Mr Nikolovski has been serving me great food and we have enjoyed a glass of red wine, salami and prosciutto (products that has missed me for 9 months) But most of the time we have been watching, singing,  hugging, kissing and feeding our little girl. She is such sweetheart and our most used sentence are " Not because she is ours but she is the most beautiful baby we have EVER seen.."
